Separate production capacity from pickup availability
A counter may be open for pickup even when the decorating team cannot accept another custom cake. Plan production limits separately from collection times. Consider the work required by each order type instead of assuming a box of pastries and a decorated celebration cake consume the same capacity.
Set lead times, cutoffs and blackout dates
Map the preparation time each product needs, the latest time an order can be accepted and the dates your bakery cannot fulfill. Holiday peaks and special events may need different rules from an ordinary weekday. Make those decisions visible in the ordering flow before customers reach checkout.
Define delivery promises for each storefront
Delivery planning includes service areas, available windows and the handoff between the bakery and delivery provider. A business with multiple locations also needs to decide which storefront fulfills an order. Align the delivery offer with production readiness rather than showing a time slot independently of the cake being ordered.
Plan what happens when an order changes
A larger cake, a different collection date or a cancellation may affect reserved capacity. Include reservation timing, changes and released capacity in the requirements for your platform. Discuss these rules with Frostly as part of a bakery ecommerce rollout; scheduling is a separate scope from the hosted visualizer.
