Review the cake before decorating
Bring the selected size, colors, piping and message into the production conversation. A cake preview can help communicate the customer’s choices, while the order record holds the instructions the team must follow. Plan how the visualizer and your order system share that information.
Design status updates for busy staff
A useful tablet screen emphasizes the order, due time and next action. Decide which roles can move an order into production, mark decorating complete or confirm it is ready. Updates should use the same status definitions as the OMS so staff do not have to interpret conflicting labels.
Handle changes and connectivity deliberately
Define how staff see a changed order and how they know an update was saved. Shared devices, sign-in, network interruptions and duplicate actions all need explicit handling. Offline behavior and synchronization should be confirmed during implementation rather than assumed from the presence of a tablet interface.
Scope a workflow around your team
Walk through a normal shift and the exceptions that interrupt it. Identify which screens production staff, counter staff and managers need. Discuss tablet order updates with Frostly as part of the complete bakery platform scope; the public cake visualizer is a separate product experience.
